 Speakers:

 

Pierre Georges, Senior Director - Global ESG Lead, S&P Global Ratings

Pierre is the Global ESG Lead for Corporate & Infrastructure Ratings, responsible for coordinating and developing analytical efforts related to ESG in credit ratings and ESG research for the practice, across all regions. He notably coordinates S&P's ESG credit indicators and analytical outreach. He is based in Paris, France. Prior to this role, Pierre was Sector Lead for the EMEA Utilities team, based in Paris, France, and was responsible for the utilities sector research and analytical sector coordination in Europe. He was also a senior member of S&P Global Hybrid Council.

Pierre has a long experience in credit and capital markets acquired in rating agencies and investment banking, working on the full rating spectrum, from investment grade to high yield. He has previously been working on a broad range of industrial sectors including real estate, retail, consumer groups and oil & gas.

Pierre has 13 years work experience at S&P Global Ratings. He holds a MBA in Corporate Finance from Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA) and is graduated from Toulouse Business School (France).


Emily Kreps, Managing Director, Head of ESG, Americas, Deutsche Bank

Emily Kreps is head of ESG for Deutsche Bank in the Americas. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Emily led the Global Capital Markets team at CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), a leading environmental non-profit defining key aspects of the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states, and regions. Emily brings more than a decade of experience as an investment banker, formerly at Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse. In a previous career she led sustainable and responsible businesses, including a period as head of corporate development for a renewable and alternative energy company, as well as various start-up CFO positions in the impact investing space. Emily is an expert in ESG disclosure, taxonomies, and the linkage to capital markets impact. She received her degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.

 

Brittany Schmidt, Partner, US Sustainability & Climate Change Leader for Financial Services, PwC

Brittany is PwC’s Financial Services Sustainability and Climate Change Leader in the US, with a focus on delivering market-leading strategy, transformation & risk management solutions to financial services clients. Most recently, she has advised clients on strategies for integrating ESG into risk management and capturing opportunity from the transition to a greener economy including setting their climate ambition, establish, measure, and operationally deliver financed emissions targets, identify and measure physical and transition risks, and inform strategic decision making through a climate lens.

Brittany draws on her prior leadership experience supporting large Banking and Capital Markets clients to navigate transformation initiatives through risk and regulatory complexity. Brittany’s work included strengthening enterprise risk processes, culture, capital stress testing, material risk identification, and regulatory reporting. Additionally, she has supported her clients with large scale programs transforming operating models and processes in the corporate and institutional lending space.

Brittany currently sits on the Corporate Outreach Committee of the Women’s Bond Club of New York. She is a member of the climate finance advisory board for the Institute of International Bankers (IIB) and BAI where she advises on how the financial sector can respond to climate change. She is a frequent speaker on financial services and climate topics including representing PwC at marquee events such as Climate Week NYC, Bloomberg Green, the IIB Washington Conference, and the Milken Institute Global Conference.

David Belmont, RMA NY Chapter Board Member

Most recently David was responsible for risk management of Blackrock's Alternatives businesses consisting of Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Private Debt, High Yield, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Commodities and Currency funds. Before joining Blackrock, David was Commonfund’s Chief Risk Officer. Commonfund manages alternative heavy endowment and foundation multi-asset portfolios. Before joining Commonfund, David was the Global Head of Hedge Fund Credit for UBS Investment Bank responsible for the risk management of hedge fund, private equity and managed fund exposures in the Investment Bank globally. Also at UBS, he was Head of Risk Management - Americas for UBS Prime Brokerage. Prior to UBS, he spent 10 years in Asia and was Head of Risk Management for Temasek Holdings, a Singapore Sovereign Wealth Fund.  David is the author of two books on risk management, Value Added Risk Management (Wiley 2004) and Managing Hedge Fund Risk and Financing (Wiley 2011). He graduated from Bowdoin College Cum Laude and received his M.B.A. and Master’s Of Science from Yale University.  Mr. Belmont is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) He is also a lecturer on Risk Management for Asset Managers at the Yale School of Management.
